Our research focused on identifying the types of errors found in Chinese-to-English translations and proposes specific strategies for writing Chinese abstracts that can be effectively translated into English using GT.

Our analysis revealed that a staggering 99% of the 69 identified problems in GT translations could be avoided by implementing three key strategies: (1) avoiding native language-specific expressions, (2) maintaining the use of original English terminologies in composing Chinese abstracts, and (3) enhancing logical relations and expressions for the discipline-specific discourse community.

These findings have significant implications for writers seeking to communicate their ideas across linguistic boundaries. By adopting these strategies, writers can ensure that their work is accurately translated and effectively conveyed to their intended audience.

For instance, when writing in Spanish using GT, it is essential to avoid using idiomatic expressions or colloquialisms that may not be easily translatable. Instead, opting for more formal language and technical terms can help ensure that the translation is accurate and clear.
